Mevlut Cavusoglu: Sweden should clarify whether it wants to join NATO

If Sweden has already chosen radicalism, if it opposes Islam, this is its own business, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu told journalists.

He said that there is no need to explain anything to Turkiye:

"Sweden should specify whether it wants to join NATO. In general, the purpose of the event in Sweden is to prevent this country from joining the Alliance."

Cavusoglu believes that mines are being laid on Sweden's path to NATO membership: "In such a case, a tripartite meeting with the participation of Finland will not be successful,"

According to him, Islamophobia is growing in Europe:

"This is what destroys Western values. Burning the Quran has nothing to do with freedom of thought. Those who support the burning of the Koran are also involved in this step. In other words, the Swedish government is also responsible."
