Georgia is a multinational country and the effective implementation of civil equality and integration policy is important here, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili said during a meeting with OSCE High Commissioner on National Minorities Kairat Abdrakhmanov, Report informs.

According to him, the state strategy for civic equality and integration and the relevant action plan aimed at creating equal opportunities for all citizens, regardless of ethnic or religious affiliation, was developed with the active participation of the High Commissioner.

Garibashvili noted that Georgia is committed to the application of high international standards and best international practices in the field of human rights. He thanked the High Commissioner for his active participation in strengthening democratic institutions in Georgia.

It was stressed at the meeting that the education sector, which provides quality education in the mother tongue, is a clear example of successful cooperation between Georgia and the High Commissioner.

During the conversation, they mentioned the valuable role of the OSCE in the process of peaceful settlement of conflicts in Georgia and the active dynamics of cooperation between the High Commissioner and Georgia. The sides also touched upon the ongoing military operations in Ukraine.
