Georgian parliamentary opposition has boycotted meetings of legislative body.

Georgian bureau of Report informs that today the candidates for the post of minister delivered speech in the parliament.

The speeches of the candidates will continue in the next few days. The Parliament is expected to declare confidence to the new government on September 8. The votes of 76 members of the parliament are required for the approval of the Cabinet of Ministers.

Members and supporters of the oppositional European Georgia and United National Movement parties are protesting outside the parliament building.

Notably, Georgian opposition is protesting the nomination of Georgian Interior Minister Giorgi Gakharia for the post of prime minister. The opposition demands a change of candidate for the post of prime minister.
