Borrell: Promise to accept Ukraine and Georgia into NATO was mistake 

"I am ready to admit that we have made a number of mistakes and that we have lost the opportunity of Russia's rapprochement with the West," EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, told TF1 TV Channel.

"There are moments that we could have done better, there are moments that we promised but couldn't keep them. For instance, the promise to accept Ukraine and Georgia into NATO was a mistake, as it was impossible to do so. I think it is wrong to make promises that we cannot keep," the diplomat said.
