Azerbaijanis in Ukraine are actively fighting and showing heroism in the war against Russia. They serve in various fields, including law enforcement agencies, and come up against death. For example, Nurlan Nuriyev and his brother Rasim Nuriyev, originally from the city of Lankaran in Azerbaijan, were seriously injured in the fighting.
Nurlan Nuriyev, who recovered and returned to the duty station, told Report that he was born and raised in Ukraine and started working as a policeman 6 years ago together with his brother: "We knew that our abilities and physical capabilities would allow us to work in this system. In fact, we have dreamed of becoming policemen since childhood. Military operations have been ongoing in the Donetsk region since 2014. Therefore, we are used to difficulties. As a result, our resistance to stress has been formed accordingly. Therefore, it is normal for us to work in such conditions."
Nuriyev was awarded the "Independence Day" medal of Ukraine and also successfully participated in sambo, football, and paintball competitions among police officers.
Nurlan and his brother, Rasim Nuriyev, are police. Rasim was recently injured and is currently being treated in hospital.
Namig Dunyamaliyev is originally from the Beylagan district. He graduated from the Police Academy in Ukraine in 1993 and is currently the chief investigator in Toretsk, a city neighboring Bakhmut, Donetsk region, Ukraine. He also emphasized that he faced danger many times.
