Armed soldier deserts from Russian military base

An armed soldier of the Russian Armed Forces has deserted from the territory of the military unit located in the city of Rzhev, Tver region, Report informs citing the TASS.

According to the enforcement source, the common soldier who had a Kalashnikov assault rifle, helmet, body armor, more than 100 rounds and a bayonet knife, has deserted from the 6th brigade of the Aerospace forces located in Rzhev.

It is noted that the personnel of the unit have already been alerted, at present the fugitive is on the wanted list and the police officers assist the military in the search.

"Orientations on the fugitive soldier are sent to the law enforcement bodies and military commandants across the Tver, the Moscow regions, and also Moscow", the source added.
