Ukraine's COVID incidence reaches record high

Over the past day, Ukrainian doctors registered 19,893 new cases of coronavirus infection, which is 13% more than the previous day, when 17,569 new cases were detected, Report informs citing the Ukrainian Health Minister Maksym Stepanov.

The current increase is the largest in the country for the entire pandemic.

The number of children and health workers who contracted the virus over the past day was 834 and 484, respectively.

Over the past 24 hours, 433 patients died in the country from COVID-related health complications, which also is an anti-record, Stepanov said on his Facebook page.

The minister said that 5,040 people were hospitalized over the past day, while 10,287 recovered from the disease.

Since the pandemic onset in early 2020, Ukraine has recorded 1,711,630 new cases of coronavirus infection. The country’s death toll has reached 33,679.
