Tunisia vows to strengthen ties with NATO

The Tunisian Defense Ministry hopes to benefit from its partnership with the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) in the areas of training and expertise exchange, Tunisian Defense Minister Imed Memmich said on Monday, Report informs via Xinxua.

Memmich made the remarks in a meeting with visiting Chair of NATO Military Committee Robert Bauer, according to a statement by the ministry.

During the meeting, Memmich expressed his satisfaction with the progress in cooperation between Tunisia and NATO, noting that, "This cooperation has contributed to strengthening the defense capabilities of the Tunisian armed forces, particularly after Tunisia obtained the status of major ally outside the alliance since 2015."

For his part, Bauer underlined NATO's commitment to enhancing cooperation and bolstering the partnership with Tunisia.
