Trump criticizes National Guard over Minneapolis riots

US President Donald Trump believes that if National Guard units had been used in Minneapolis two days ago, it would have helped avoid such damage as a result of the riots, Report says, citing RIA Novosti.

"The National Guard has been released in Minneapolis to do the job that the Democrat Mayor couldn't do. Should have been used two days ago, and there would not have been damage, and Police Headquarters would not have been taken over & ruined. Great job by the National Guard. No games!" Trump tweeted.

The mayor of Minneapolis is 38-year-old Democrat Jacob Frey, and previously, Republican President Trump has already subjected him to harsh criticism for his actions during the riots. Minnesota Governor Tim Walz also represents the Democratic party.

On May 30, Trump threatened to use the "unlimited power of the military" to quell the unrest.
