The Syrian armed opposition has announced a ‘general amnesty’ granting guarantees of providing safety to all Syrian military servicemen conscripted under the rule of the previous administration, the Military Operations Command Center announced in a statement, Report informs via TASS.
"Their lives are safe and no one may assault them," the center said in a statement posted on its Telegram channel.
According to Al Jazeera, "the opposition fighters who overthrew Assad have announced a general amnesty for all military personnel conscripted into service under the former ruler."
On November 27, Syria’s armed opposition units launched a large-scale offensive on the positions of government forces in the provinces of Aleppo and Idlib. By the evening of December 7, President Bashar Assad’s opponents had seized several large cities, including Aleppo, Hama, Deir ez-Zor, Daraa, and Homs.
