Sri Lanka Health Ministry has decided to permit the vaccination with a booster dose against coronavirus of all citizens above 20, Report informs, citing TASS.

According to Health Minister Keheliya Rambukwella, there is a plan to permit the removal of restrictions on visiting cinema theaters, restaurants, hotel occupancy, wedding ceremonies, and other mass events while observing strict rules for the prevention of the coronavirus spread.

Over the past day, Sri Lanka registered 745 new cases of COVID-19 and 23 deaths. Throughout the pandemic, Sri Lanka reported 559,605 cases and over 14,000 deaths.

Sri Lanka health authorities fully vaccinated almost half of the country's population, that is 21.9 million people.
