Norway to tighten entry rules from April 1 due to pandemic

The Norwegian government will further tighten entry requirements from April 1 due to the pandemic, according to the Cabinet of Ministers, Report informs referring to TASS.

"On the night of April 1, those who are waiting for the results of the test taken at the entrance to the country will be required to wait for it at the testing station at the border. Those who refuse will face a fine," the message said.

In addition to this innovation, Norwegian citizens and those with permanent residence there will have to (along with foreigners) show a negative coronavirus test result before entering Norway from countries with a high risk of infection.

The test must be done 24 hours before arrival in the country. Although a citizen of Norway cannot be denied entry into the country even if he or she doesn’t have a paper with the result of a COVID test, that person may also face a fine.
