Nine killed in passenger train derailment in India

At least nine people died in a train derailment in eastern India, and at least 45 others were injured, with ten in critical condition, local authorities said in a statement.

Report informs, citing NDTV, that at least 12 carriages of a passenger train derailed in the Indian state of Western Bengali. The causes of the incident are being investigated.

A rescue operation is currently underway, as some people are believed to be still in the carriages.
