Josep Borrell: "Assistance should be provided to migrants within the European Union"

"The current situation on the borders of the European Union (EU) with Belarus is unacceptable, humanitarian aid should be provided to migrants," EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell said, Report informs, citing foreign media.

"Yesterday, in preparation for the meeting, we had telephone conversations with the ministers of Poland, Lithuania, Belarus, and the UN Secretary-General. I told the Belarusian foreign minister that the current situation is unacceptable and humanitarian aid should be sent," he said ahead of the meeting of foreign ministers of the Eastern Partnership countries on the border crisis.
