Japan talks on new global threats due to conflicts in Europe, Middle East

Conflicts in the Middle East and Europe pose new threats to the international community, such as cyber-attacks and the spread of disinformation, and also impede the resolution of international problems, Report informs.

Such assessment is contained in the Diplomatic Bluebook of Japan.

“Two of the three historically important regions for global stability - Europe, the Middle East and East Asia - are at war. This opens up new threats, such as cyber-attacks and the spread of disinformation, and impedes international cooperation to solve global problems. Stability in the Indo-Pacific region, including East Asia, is more important than ever,” the document says.

In addition, the report identifies current conflicts as “issues that affect the stability and prosperity of all regions of the world, including Japan.”

In this regard, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasizes the importance of developing relations with partner states in the Group of Seven and the Quadrilateral Security Dialogue (consisting of Australia, India, the US and Japan).
