The world community must take a firm stand on Iran and prevent this country from obtaining a nuclear weapon, Israeli President Isaac Herzog said in his appeal to the deputies of the Bundestag during his visit to Germany, Report informs citing TASS.
“Weapons of mass destruction in the hands of a UN member state that daily calls for the destruction of another UN member state is unacceptable,” Herzog added. He stressed that threats and actions aimed at the destruction of Israel are unacceptable. “Let me be clear: anyone who denies the Holocaust, acts out of hatred and aggression, denies Israel’s right to exist, has no right to participate in any negotiations, no right to any financial support or any other form of support,” said the Israeli president.
“The world community must be on the right side of history, must build a wall between Iran and nuclear capabilities. The State of Israel will defend itself by any means, and I urge the world community not to remain indifferent,” the head of the Jewish state said.
The Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) on Tehran’s nuclear program was signed with Iran in 2015 in order to overcome the crisis over its nuclear development by the permanent five member countries of the UN Security Council and Germany. Former US president Donald Trump decided to withdraw from this agreement in 2018.
