According to the institute, 33,500 people tested positive for coronavirus over the past day.

Coronavirus incidence in Germany has been rising rapidly in recent weeks. The morbidity rate during the week was 289 per 100,000 people over the past day. A week ago, this figure was 191, and a month ago - 67.

Bundestag President Bärbel Bas has called to avoid large-scale events.

German Interior Minister Horst Seehofer said 12,000 troops would be mobilized by the end of the year to provide civilian assistance in the wake of the pandemic’s fourth wave. The military will provide support during the revaccination process, assist in the construction of temporary hospitals if necessary, and work as drivers for clinics.

Germany eyes mobilizing 6,000 service members by the end of November.
