The German parliament has ratified the bill on Finland's and Sweden's NATO membership, Report informs, citing the German Bundestag.

The project was supported by the ruling Social Democrats, "Greens" and Free Democrats parties, the main opposition Christian Democratic Union, and the Christian Socialist Union. MPs of the Alternative for Germany party remained neutral in the vote, while deputies of the Left Party voted against the project.

The Lower House of the Polish Parliament also ratified the protocol on the entry of Sweden and Finland into the Alliance.
President Andrzej Duda should approve the document on the membership of these two states in NATO.

The parliaments of Denmark, Norway, Canada, Iceland, and Albania have already ratified the relevant document.
