Former President of Kyrgyz Republic resigns from post of SDPK chairman

Former President of Kyrgyz Republic Almazbek Atambayev has resigned from the post of chairman of the Social Democratic Party of Kyrgyzstan (SDPK), spokesperson official representative of SDPK Kunduz Joldubayeva told TASS, Report informs.

He said Atambayev resigned in connection with the new law “On guarantees of activities of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic”, which bans former presidents from holding state and political duties. Otherwise, they will be deprived of the right of immunity.
