European Commission officials return to work from office

The European Commission has officially begun the phased restoration of its employees' regular work in offices after quarantine. Report informs citing the TASS, the European Commission spokesman said at an online briefing in Brussels.

"On Monday, the European Commission began a phased restoration of its staff in the office after quarantine," he said.

On December 31, 2019, Chinese authorities announced an outbreak of pneumonia in China's Wuhan, and the causative agent is a new type of coronavirus officially named COVID-19.

On March 11, the World Health Organization (WHO) declared the outbreak of a new coronavirus a pandemic.
