The embassies of the United States and several other western countries in Kabul have called on the Taliban movement to stop the offensive, according to the Afghan TV channel Ariana News, Report informs, citing TASS.

The diplomatic missions of Australia, Great Britain, Germany, Denmark, the EU, Spain, Italy, Canada, the office of NATO high representative, Netherlands, Korean Republic, the United States, Finland, France, Czech Republic, Sweden, Japan, accredited in the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, called for an immediate end to Taliban's offensive, which brings to naught the efforts to achieve a political solution to the conflict, brings suffering and turns civilians into refugees. They condemned the continuing deliberate murder of people in Afghanistan, destruction of essential infrastructure, as well as threats, statements, and other steps targeting Afghans' achievements over the past 20 years.

A two-day meeting of a high-level delegation from Afghanistan and Taliban representatives had previously ended in Doha (Qatar). Upon its conclusion, the sides adopted a brief statement about the intention to continue talks on a high level. The head of the official delegation, Abdullah Abdullah, who also heads the Supreme Council for National Reconciliation, assured the meeting participants of the Afghan government's commitment to a peaceful solution to the conflict.
