Denmark may lift all coronavirus restrictions

The Danish government intends to lift all pandemic-related restrictions from January 31.

Report informs citing TASS that Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen plans to announce the relevant decision at a press conference on Wednesday.

The head of the cabinet is also expected to announce that as of February 5, COVID-19 will no longer be classified as a disease that is critically dangerous to the public. These government decisions were taken based on the recommendations of a special epidemiological commission.

In December, Denmark imposed several restrictive measures due to the spread of the coronavirus: the concept of the maximum number of buyers and visitors per square meter was introduced for shops and restaurants, gyms, casinos, amusement parks, conference halls, cinemas, art galleries. The government called on private and public enterprises to shift to remote work.

Despite the high rates of infection, cinemas, museums, and theaters can once again receive visitors from January 16. A limited number of fans are allowed to watch the competitions provided that they wear a protective mask and present a COVID-19 passport. 80.5% of Danish residents have been double jabbed, and 59.5% have already received a booster dose.
