The death toll from a strong earthquake in Albania has reached 39 people.

Report informs citing the TASS that the due statement came from Prime Minister of Albania Edi Rama.

The Prime Minister also warned the local press against spreading false news and rumors.

35 were reported dead earlier.

About 45 people were rescued from the rubble. Emergency workers continue search and rescue operations.

Notably, the 6.4 magnitude earthquake hit the European nation Albania on November 26 at about 04: 00 local time (07: 00 Baku time). According to the US Geological survey, the epicenter was located 10 km northwest of the city of Shijak, located near the capital Tirana. The hearth lay at a depth of 10 km. Tremors were also felt in Northern Macedonia, Serbia, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Greece, Croatia and some southern provinces of Italy.
