42 Chinese warplanes approach Taiwanese territories

Forty-two Chinese warplanes have approached Taiwan, the Taiwanese Defense Ministry said, Report informs via Anadolu Agency.

According to the ministry, 42 aircraft of the Chinese Air Force have landed in the region adjacent to the Taiwanese territories in the last 24 hours.

Taiwan's military, in turn, raised air patrols, distributed radio alerts and deployed anti-aircraft missile systems.

China's military activities around Taiwan intensified after the visit of US House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi to the island on August 2.
