Baku. 17 January. REPORT.AZ/ Preparation works are underway in Martyrs' Alley on the occasion of the 29th anniversary of the 20 January tragedy.

Notably, people have already started to visit the Alley of Martyrs. There are teachers, young people, and schoolchildren among the visitors. They visit the martyrs' graves and put carnations on their graves.

On the night of January 20, 1990, a military machine of the former Soviet state has attacked Baku both through land and the sea and committed unprecedented brutality on January 20 night in 1990. As a result, 133 peaceful civilians were killed, 744 were injured and 841 were illegally arrested. There were underage, women, and elderly people among victims. The brutal terrorist act committed by the Soviet Army against the Azerbaijani people by the instruction of the USSR President Mikhail Gorbachev, was written in black letters to the history as one of the most serious crimes against humanity.
