WB may include demining into its projects

Based on the appeal of the Azerbaijani government, the World Bank (WB) may expand the scope of its activity by including demining works into its projects, bank's Country Manager for Azerbaijan, Europe and Central Asia Sarah Michel told journalists, according to Report.

She noted that a $2,000,000-grant agreement with the State Committee For Affairs Of Refugees and Internally Displaced Persons.

The main goal of this project is to facilitate the improvement of living conditions of the displaced persons and increase their professional skills, Michel said, adding that throughout 20 years, the World Bank supports the improvement of the living conditions of the displaced persons in Azerbaijan.

She reminded that the bank's first project was launched in 1999 and the bank continues this work with a great pleasure.
