Baku. 19 December. REPORT.AZ/ At least 74 journalists were killed around the world in 2016.

Report informs citing Interfax, a statement issued by the Reporters without Borders says.

The most of the journalists were killed in Syria - 19 people, 10 journalists were killed in Afghanistan, nine - in Mexico, seven - in Iraq and five - in Yemen.

In addition, in 2016 nine bloggers and eight people who collaborated with the media were among the dead.

Notably, the number of journalists killed in 2016 has decreased compared with 2015 (101 victims).
