A news article should be clear to every reader, deputy editor-in-chief of Oxu.az Farid Novruzov told a meeting with students of the Report Media School.
Novruzov noted that even a reader who is unaware of the topic should understand the essence of the article from the first moment:
"If you can't read and understand the news, then the reader won't be able to comprehend the information either. It's very important to convey the key points and essence of the information. You shouldn't forget about social and household problems in your area. News should be diverse, and press releases should be made concise. In translation, some freedom can be allowed. Everything depends on the agenda and editorial policy."
The deputy editor-in-chief also discussed the impact of artificial intelligence on modern media.
"Artificial intelligence is widely used in journalism, helping with translation, and creation of photos and texts. Many leading media outlets around the world use artificial intelligence for various tasks. This technology also affects the editor's work by introducing a new approach. There are negative aspects too. This creates situations such as decreased quality or the provision of false information. The most serious problem could be the reduction of jobs," said the journalist.
Farid Novruzov was born in Baku in 1992. In 2014, he graduated from the Faculty of International Relations at Voronezh State University in Russia. He began his journalistic career at APA agency in 2016. He worked at AzerTAC for some time. Since June 2024, he has been working as deputy editor-in-chief at Oxu.az website.
