Winston Groom, an author of Forrest Gump, has died at 77 in Fairhope, Alabama, Report says, citing the mayor's office of the city.
The book "Forrest Gump" became the most famous work of the author in 1986 due to its screening. The film won six Oscars. The book tells the story of a mentally disabled young man.
In 1995, Groom wrote Gump and Co. as a sequel to the book. He tries to screen it, but it doesn't work. He has also written several books in the documentary genre.
