Victim: Now these executioners of Shusha prison are pretending to be oppressed

A trial continued on June 9 in the administrative building of the Yasamal District Court, related to the criminal case of Armenian servicemen Mkrtchyan Ludvik Mkrtichovich and Khosrovyan Alesha Aramaisovich, accused of cruel torture of Azerbaijanis taken prisoner during the First Karabakh War, Report informs.

At the meeting chaired by the judge of the Baku Military Court, Elbey Allahverdiyev, the victim Javid Huseyn was questioned.

He said that he was captured in 1994 in battles near the village of Gulluja in Aghdam:

“They (the accused - ed.) here pose as oppressed ones, while they were executioners in the Shusha prison. They both speak Azerbaijani. I was captured in 1994 during the battles for the village of Gulluja in Aghdam. That day they kept us in Aghdam, they wanted to kill us. Later they received information that they would exchange us. First, they took us to Khankendi, beat us, and then took us to the prison in Shusha. There they beat us on the head with steel pipes. The area in front of the prison in Shusha was frozen over, they forced us to clean it, then, once again, they beat me with a piece of iron and then snowed me in."

The victim also said that during the arrival of the staff of the International Committee of the Red Cross, the Armenians hid him so that the ICRC workers would not see what state he was in:

“Ludwig Mkrtchyan and Alyosha Khosrovyan tied my hands, and the deputy head of the prison began to beat me. They began to ask me, 'Is Karabakh ours or yours?' I replied that Karabakh is ours. I was hit with a truncheon so hard that I lost my eye. When the ICRC representatives arrived again, I was thrown into the prison cell so that they would not see my condition. When we were in Shusha prison, they brought children from kindergartens, they showed us to the children and said, ‘these are Turks, our enemies, do not approach them, otherwise they will kill you.’ So they are raising children like Nazis.”
