Ambassador: US companies involved in restoring recovered territories - EXCLUSIVE

US companies are interested and actively involved in restoring the liberated Azerbaijani territories, US Ambassador to Azerbaijan Earle Litzenberger told Report.

“There are US companies that are very interested in participating in all the various activities that will be needed to successfully rehabilitate the recovered territories, and that ranges from demining companies to architectural design firms, possibly the energy companies. I’m pleased to have learned that a couple of companies have already received some contracts,” he said.

The ambassador expressed hope for a peaceful normalization of relations between the peoples of Azerbaijan and Armenia.

“We certainly hope that Azerbaijan and Armenia will find a way to peacefully resolve their differences and that people can reestablish direct communication with each other. I think that is incredibly important as a way to remove sources of conflict in the region. The United States very much wants to support that peaceful settlement and reconciliation process,” he said.
