Foundation of "QAZ" automobile plant laid in Hajigabul

Baku. 9 February. REPORT.AZ/ Groundbreaking ceremony of plant for the production of commercial and special purpose vehicles in the Hajigabul Industrial District of Azerbaijan held today by Azermash JCS together with Russia's Gorky Automobile Plant (GAZ).

Report informs, Azerbaijani Minister of Economy Shahin Mustafayev and Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation Maxim Oreshkin attended the event.

Niyazi Safarov, deputy minister of economy, said the cost of the plant is $ 14 mln AZN: "The factory is fully owned by Azermarsh. Here, about 1,000 units of GAZ cars will be assembled. The plant is expected to employ 100 people”.

Construction of the plant is scheduled to complete in 2020."

Notably, Memorandum of Cooperation between Gorky Automobile Plant (GAZ) of Russia and “Azermash” OJSC (Azerbaijan) was signed on assembling “GAZ” automobiles on April 2018.
