ADY Express increases wagon repairs 70%

"Sharg" wagon depot located in Alat settlement of Garadagh district and operating as part of ADY Express LLC, completed 2020 year with a risen number of wagons being repaired. The depot carries out current and depot repairs of freight cars to ensure uninterrupted transportation of goods by rail in Azerbaijan.

In 2020, ADY Express organized the work of the "Sharg" wagon depot within the framework of a special quarantine regime applied in the country in response to the coronavirus pandemic, created a shift mode, and continued the repair process of wagons without interruption. In all workshops operating at the depot, the company carried out work in the same way. As a result, conditions have been created to complete repair work on freight wagons and their use in the transportation of goods.

The total number of wagons repaired in the depot in 2020 was 1,091, 70% more than in 2019. The highest figure was recorded in November last year – 147 cars. There were 229 tank cars, 204 semi-cars, 219 covered wagons, 218 refrigerators, 219 platforms, and two grain wagons among the freight cars repaired in the previous year.

The depot is currently undergoing phased repairs. Reconstruction of the depot and its provision with modern engineering and technological equipment will make it possible to repair all freight cars that are part of the car fleet of Azerbaijan. The depot reconstruction concept has been developed, taking into account the full maintenance of existing buildings and facilities, provided that the production process is not stopped. So, in parallel with the reconstruction work at the "Sharg" wagon depot, a technological operation is underway – the repair of wagons is carried out.
