Shakhriyar Mammadyarov: I sincerely believe that Azerbaijani team will win first medal at Olympics

Baku. 28 August. REPORT.AZ / Shakhriyar Mammadyarov, who took the 4th place at the Sinquefield Cup international tournament in the American city of St. Louis, appealed to the people supporting him.

Report informs, the 33-year-old grandmaster, who complained about the lack of a sponsor on August 27, thanked for the support. He wrote on his personal Facebook page: "Thank you very much for your love and respect for me. I will have 2820 points in the new FIDE rating. We earned this with your love. Thank you very much! We need a new target. The next competition is the World Chess Olympiad.  Our team will win a medal for the first time at this competition, I sincerely believe in it. By the way, I am grateful to Rauf Mammadov, who was with me during the tournament in the United States. He is a teacher and friend."

Notably, 43 World Chess Olympiad will be held on September 23 – October 6 in the Georgian city of Batumi.
