Selected mascots of 2020 Tokyo Summer Olympics and Paralympics

Baku. 28 February. REPORT.AZ/ Japan have chosen a modern design linked to the Tokyo 2020 logo as mascot for the next summer Olympics.

Report informs, the Special Council at the Organizing Committee of the Games has announced the selection of blue and pink figures in the style of Japanese animation. Council based on results of voting among 16,000 elementary school children of Japan across the country from December 11, 2017 to February 22, 2018. This method was used for the first time in the history of the Olympic Games in selecting a mascot. Totally there were up to 2,000 versions. 3 of them were selected for the final competition.

Notably, Tokyo 2020 Olympics will be held on July 24 - August 9, while Paralympics will be held on August 25 - September 6.
