European Championship: Azerbaijani swimmer achieves historic success

Azerbaijani swimmer Ramil Velizade won a bronze medal at the European Youth Championship held in Bucharest, the capital of Romania.

Report has learned from the Press Service of the Federation that the 18-year-old athlete finished third in the 200-meter butterfly event in the final.

This was the first medal won by Azerbaijani swimmers in the history of continental championships.

Azerbaijan is represented by three swimmers in the competition.
