Azerbaijani weightlifter fails doping test

Baku. 27 June. REPORT.AZ/ Azerbaijan weightlifter Huseyn Ismayilov has been temporarily removed from all competitions.

Report informs referring to the official website of the International Weightlifting Federation (IWF). The reason is, Ismayilov's doping test showed positive results for banned testosterone.

After proving that Ismayilov has violated the anti-doping rules, the relevant decision will be made public. The IWF has also stated that it will not make any disclosures until the work is completed.

Notably, in 2017 Huseyn Ismayilov won a bronze medal in the 94kg weight class at the European Championship among youths aged 20-23 in Albania, Durres.
