Azerbaijani female wrestlers join world championship

Baku. 23 August. REPORT.AZ/ Female wrestlers will compete in the third day of the world championship in Paris, France.

Report informs, Azerbaijani team will be represented at 3 out of 4 weight classes.

Their first competitors are already known. Three-time European champion Nataliya Synyshyn and debutant of the world champion Elmira Gambarova will be in the 1/16 finals. Irina Netreba will compete in 1/8 finals.

1/16 finals. Natalia Sinishin - Irina Kurackina (Belarus)

58 kg

1/8 finals. Irina Netreba - Blekaityte Giedre (Lithuania) / Ariadne Mikelle Burkhart (Austria)

63 kg

1/16 finals. Tayla Tuahine Ford (New Zealand) - Elmira Gambarova

Meetings will start at 12:00 Baku time. Final matches will begin at 21:00.

Notably, Greco-Roman wrestlers competed in the first two races. Although Azerbaijan is represented in 8 weight categories, only Elvin Mursaliyev (80 kg) has risen to the podium. He won a bronze medal.
