Athletics will be represented as high-level competition at II European Games

Baku. 23 December. REPORT.AZ/ European Athletics Association has agreed to become a part of the upcoming II European Games in 2019 in Minsk.

Report informs, President of European Athletics Association Svein Arne Hansen said this in an interview with Inside the Games.

Norwegian functionary said the development of a competitive format with the Games organizers..

During Baku-2015 First European Games, team competitions in Athletics were held in III League.

Hansen said that there will not be such a level of competition in eurogames "Minsk-2019".

First Vice-President of the National Olympic Committee of Belarus Maxim Rizhenkov noted that II Eurogames will focus on the nature of a competition license for the Olympic Games in 2020 in Tokyo. At the moment, real candidates of Games program indicated acrobatics, boxing, kayaking, canoeing, road bike, sports and gymnastics, judo, rowing, sambo-wrestling, table tennis, free-style and Greco-Roman wrestling and others. Only acrobatics and Sambo are not Olympic kinds.

Belarus plans to spend 40 mln USD on Minsk-2019.

Competitions in water sports, cycling, golf, gymnastics, rowing and triathlon will be held in Scottish city of Glasgow.
