Another World Cup in Baku may be postponed

The 2019-20 pandemic has caused many events around the world to be canceled or postponed. Among the most prominent events affected was the 2020 Summer Olympics, which has been postponed to 2021. Several occasions modified to remove a live audience or held over teleconference.

"The planned World Cup on stand and shooting in Baku may be postponed.", Azerbaijan Shooting Federation's Vice-President and head coach of the national team Hafiz Jafarov told Report.

According to him, the International Shooting Sport Federation has not provided any official information: "Now no country holds competitions. Perhaps we will change the date. We are ready to organize the World Cup, and a lot of preparation work is underway in the shooting complex. However, at this point people cannot leave their home. The World Cup will presumably be postponed."

Jafarov said that they would act as the state decides: "If this happens, we will change the date of the competition."

The World Cup in Baku was planned to be held on June 22 - July 3.
