Baku will celebrate 25th anniversary of National Olympic Committee

Baku. 19 September. REPORT.AZ/ The 25th anniversary of the National Olympic Committee of Azerbaijan (NOC) will be celebrated.

The NOC Vice President Chingiz Huseynzade told Report.

According to him, the solemn ceremony will be held on September 29 at the Heydar Aliyev Center.

Although Chingiz Huseynzade said that the NOC officials from different countries will participate in the event, President of the International Olympic Committee  (IOC) Thomas Bach will not be among them. Instead, European Olympic Committees (EOC) acting President Janez Kocijančič will arrive in Baku. His visit related to the meeting of the EOC Executive Committee on September 29 in the capital of Azerbaijan. This meeting will take place at Marriott Hotel.

Notably, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has been chairing the NOC since July 31, 1997.
