Victim from Khankandi: ‘They did not even sell us bread’

At the ongoing hearing on April 11 at the Baku Military Court, Zemfira Abbasova, a victim from Khankandi, testified and responded to questions from state prosecutors.

According to Report, Abbasova, who lived in Khankandi city, stated that after the "Miyatsum movement" began, they could not leave their homes:

“Although favorable conditions were provided for the Armenians, and they had sufficient provisions, they insulted and oppressed us. They entered our homes, looted and destroyed them, vandalized our property, and carved crosses into it. We were unable to go outside as they would stone us. We were even not sold bread. At that time, I was employed at the railway administration. They also invaded the railway administration and carried out various illegal actions against us. Their main statements were: ‘The Turks shouldn't be here; they must leave,’ and ‘The Turks must be annihilated.’ They demanded that the Turks vacate their homes so that Armenians could take their place.”

The trial continues for Armenian citizens accused of crimes against peace and humanity, including war crimes, acts of terrorism, the preparation and execution of aggressive war, genocide, violations of war laws and rules, forcible seizure and retention of power, as well as financing terrorism, among other offenses stemming from Armenia's military aggression.
