"The number of suicides in Azerbaijan is twice as low as in the world," chief psychiatrist of Azerbaijan Teymur Gafarov told journalists, Report informs
"But this does not mean that this problem is not significant for us. Measures must be taken to prevent such cases. First of all, the responsibility lies with the health workers and psychologists. However, this is a very complex process, and therefore the responsibilities fall on other members of society. About 80 percent of people who commit suicides, leave a message to others, why they did it, what motivated them to do it. If we are more attentive to them, we can significantly reduce the number of such deaths," the doctor added.
