Baku court acquits two men accused of fraudulence

Ilham Xidirov and Nazim Mustafayev, accused of committing fraud to the tune of nearly AZN1 million, have been acquitted by the Baku Court of Appeal, Report says.

Under the verdict, fraudulence was not proven and therefore, the verdict of the Baku Grave Crimes Court was canceled. Ilham Xidirov and Nazim Mustafayev were released in the courtroom.

According to the accusation, Ilham Xidirov and Nazim Mustafayev took from several persons a total of AZN1 million under the guise of delivering compressor equipment from Russia for sale.

By the decision of the Baku Grave Crimes Court, Ilham Xidirov, had been sentenced to 9 years 6 months in prison, Nazim Mustafayev to 5 years in prison.
