Samaddin Asadov: Azerbaijani government understands importance of developing space sphere

The government of Azerbaijan understands the importance of developing cosmic sphere, chairman of the board of Azerbaijan's space agency Azercosmos Samaddin Asadov said.

Report quotes him as saying that the development of this sphere has a great impact on economic development. Today, when the world is facing various problems and challenges, the cosmic sphere influences each of the Sustainable Development Goals.

Samaddin Asadov noted that Azerbaijan is preparing actively to holding the International Astronautical Congress on October 2-6 of the next year which is expected to be attended by around 6,000 participants.

He said 75% of places in the exhibition hall has already been booked. The registration for participation in the Congress will open in late January 2023.

The chairman of the board of Azercosmos noted that the International Astronautical Congress returns to Baku after 50 years.
