Multinational technology giant establishing regional center in Baku

The official representative office of the multinational technology company Lenovo operating in Azerbaijan will expand into a regional center covering Eastern Europe and Central Asia, Wilfredo Sotolongo, the Senior Vice President of Lenovo ISG, said during the meeting with Azerbaijani Minister of Digital Development and Transport Rashad Nagiyev, Report informs.

At the same time, proposals were made regarding the establishment of a joint research and development center in Azerbaijan.

During the meeting, the head of the delegation provided broad information about the company's activities.

As reported, Lenovo, engaged in the production of infrastructure solutions, servers, data storage systems, and other modern technological equipment, operates in more than 180 markets.

In turn, the Minister of Digital Development and Transport, Rashad Nabiyev, informed the representatives of Lenovo company about the work done to improve the business environment for IT companies of the government, especially about creating a favorable environment for attracting foreign investments. The minister emphasized that amendments and additions to the tax, migration, customs legislation, and the law "On Social Insurance" have been prepared. Thanks to these changes, IT companies engaged in system integration and software development will get many privileges while operating in Azerbaijan.
