Expert discloses dangerous apps found on Google’s Play Store

Forbes magazine expert Zak Doffman has listed the apps that need to be removed from users’ smartphones immediately, Report informs referring to Forbes.

Eight ‘dangerous’ apps have been found on Google’s Play Store that can steal user’s banking details and even bypass two-factor authentication.

If any of these apps are installed on the phone, it is necessary to delete them immediately and check bank accounts for any suspicious activity.

Dubbed ‘Clast82,’ the new threat is a dropper that can install any malware on the device, Doffman said.

‘Clast82 includes a mobile remote access trojan to control infected devices, and its favored malware appears to be the AlienBot banking malware as a service (MaaS). Clast82 can take full control over a victim’s phone—making it as if the hacker is holding the phone physically,’ he added.

The malicious Clast82 apps from Google Play Store are listed below alongside the relevant package names, given the app names are fairly generic.
