Elnur Nasibov: Azerbaijan’s lyceums, schools seek to benefit from opportunities of 4SI Academy

Some lyceums and schools in Azerbaijan intend to take advantage of the opportunities provided by the 4SI Academy, according to Elnur Nasibov, Chairman of the Board of the Education Development Fund, Report informs.

He made the remark at the opening ceremony of the National Program project held within the framework of the 4SI Academy.

"When we were approached two years ago, I admit that very few people could foresee its essence and importance. However, as a fund, we believed in its perspective. Today is the opening of the second wave. We have had very important observations during these two years. The increase in licenses is an indicator of the great interest in it.

At this stage, more serious issues should be put before us. One aspect should be considered as a shortcoming of this program. Workers should not only be prepared for employers. At the same time, preference should be given to programs that can create jobs. Let's support young people in creating consulting and other services based on the knowledge and skills they acquire from this platform. I think that this should be an important direction facing us in the next stages," he noted.

The chairman further noted that there have been nearly 10,000 participants in Coursera courses so far, and 1,000 licenses have been obtained: "We expect bigger results in the next stage. As a fund, we believe that the level of participation of higher education institutions is very good and can be further strengthened. There should be joint education presentations in general education institutions as well. This includes both online and offline formats."
