Azercosmos: Optical cameras took pictures of fires

Azersky optical satellite makes it possible to take pictures with optical cameras, Report informs, citing the Chairman of the Board of the Space Agency (Azercosmos) under the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport Samaddin Asadov.

"The ability of the satellite to shoot in infrared light allows us to easily capture fires. Green color reflects infrared light, so green plantings are displayed in red. But the burnt areas in the images are not red. Monitoring allows us to understand what can be done. In total, fires occurred on 1,670 hectares of forests, of which 79 hectares are in the territory of the state forest fund, 891 hectares are in the territory of the municipal fund. In addition to the forest territory, we also observed and compiled reports on fires that occurred in pastures and sown areas," Asadov said.
