Azerbaijan and Russia to provide joint satellite and broadcasting services

Azerbaijan’s AzerCosmos OJSC and Russia's Satellite Communication Company (RSCC) have signed a cooperation agreement.

Report informs, citing foreign media, that the agreement was signed by Deputy Chairman of AzerCosmos Rovshan Rustamov and RSCC Deputy Director-General Ksenia Drozdova.

According to the agreement, the companies will provide joint satellite and broadcasting services.

For this purpose, both partners will use their assets, including AzerSpace 1 and AzerSpace 2 and Express AM satellites. The services will connect networks for different economic and state management sectors in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, as well as Russia and Azerbaijan.

"This agreement is an acceptable continuation of strengthening of trade and economic links between Russia and Azerbaijan and its fulfillment  is dictated by the current situation in the global satellite market. It’s noteworthy that our regional cooperation in the Caspian region is at a high level. RSCC and AzerCosmos have been successfully operating in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa for long years. Joint efforts of the two national operators open a new page in Russia-Azerbaijan cooperation, and create joint export opportunities for foreign consumers," RSCC Deputy Director-General Ksenia Drozdova said.
